On Tuesday Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), led by the association’s President Peter Zwennes visited Emmanuel ‘Game Boy” Tagoe at his training at the Seconds Out Boxing Gym in Accra to motivate him ahead of this Friday’s showdown.

Tagoe will face former super featherweight champions Mzonke Fana for the vacant IBO lightweight belt at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

The GBA in their visitation presented assortment of gifts which included seven crates of eggs, two cartoons of mineral water and two cartoons of milk juice.

Our foremost hope for a world title in professional boxing in this country is Game Boy Emmanuel Tagoe. God willing coming Friday he will lift high the flag of the nation and make all of us proud. We know what stuff he is made off, he is a very durable boxer, he is always a well-conditioned boxer and we believe that given the opportunity he will go greater heights,” Zwennes said.

He continued:  “This is only the beginning he is going to win the IBO World title, he has been rated by the WBA and I believe after this fight he will be rated by the WBC as well. So we are looking at the possibility of a triple World champion in a shortest possible time. We have been starved of World champions in the past couple of years, our last World champion was Joshua Clottey since then we have been struggling, a few have come close, Osumanu  Adama fought Gennady Golovkin it was unsuccessful.

Richard Commey recently fought it was unsuccessful. This time we intend to get it right. On behalf of the Ghana Boxing Authority, we want to make this token of donation to our next world champion Emmanuel Game Boy Tagoe.

Tagoe also had some few words to share:

I have to thank God for this opportunity and I will deliver what Ghanaians have been craving for. I will thank my management team. I will also want to thank the GBA because they have really motivated me. Though I’m yet to fight but I have won the title in advance. Ghanaians should have hope in me like the confidence the GBA executives have in me.
