Ghana Boxing Authority member Alhaji Tophic has thrown away idea of his outfit sanctioning referee Fred Ghartey who officiated the fight between Braimah “Bukom Banku” Kamako and Bastie Samir.
The Bastie Samir trainer, Coach Ofori Asare despite coaching Bastie Samir to win the fight complained that the referee took the side of Bukom Banku and that the fight should have ended the fight earlier.

Alhaji Topic could not hide his amazement when he was asked to respond calls from Bastie’s camp.
“Im surprised how we can suspend referee Ghartey because he did a marvelous job. The referee was fair”.
"In Round 3 Banku was knocked down and Bukom Banku wanted to pass through the rope. In Round 6, he stopped it because Bukom Banku had a cut and the referee took him to the neutral corner for his doctor to attend to him”.
"In Round 7 Bukom Banku was knocked out. He couldn’t even walk forwards so the referee had to stop the fight."
Bukom Banku is proposing a rematch with Bastie Samir. Only time will tell if that will actually happen.
