Richard Commey, Lawson, Micah to fight in Ghana for vacant WBC belts

Ghana's Richard Commey will fight Belgium international Hedi Slimani on March 11, a bout that will also be used as part of Ghana's 60 years celebrations.

The card will be promoted by Streetwise Promotions in collaboration with Errol Hawk Sports Management. The boxing show will be used to celebrate Ghana’s 60th anniversary.

The Chief Executive Officer of Streetwise Promotions Michael Amoo-Bediako announced the upcoming event in a press conference at the Accra International Conference Centre.

“Commey will face Hedi Slimani for the vacant WBC international silver lightweight belt, last year Commey fought twice, the IBF World title and the IBF eliminator but the result didn’t go our way, but on March 11, we still start another journey and I’m confident Commey will surely become a World champion,” Amoo-Bediako said during the press conference.

The card will also feature a vacant WBC international silver welterweight title between Frederick Lawson and Jamaica’s Sakima Mullings.

Also on the bill is a vacant WBC international silver bantamweight title clash between Ghana’s Duke Micah and Mexico’s Jonathan Aguilar.
