Player ratings - Ghana vs Mozambique

Pulse.com.gh editor Godfred Akoto Boafo rates the Black Stars players for the 2017 AFCON qualifying game against Mozambique

Razak Braimah 6

The Cordoba goalkeeper did not have too much to do but will be disappointed he was beaten by Manjate's header at his near post. Still has work to do on his distribution as he nearly gave away a goal with a poor pass.

Jonathan Mensah 5

The experienced defender did not enjoy the best of days even against a relatively poor team. Looked nervous against Helder Pelembe.

John Boye 6

Scored the second goal that gave the Black Stars breathing space. That aside he was the more reliable of the center backs with his pace a key asset against the Pelembe brothers.

Harrison Afful 6

Ghana's Mr.Consistent underwhelmed by his own high standards. He was not poor but he was not at his best either.

Baba Rahman 5

Looks bereft of confidence at the moment. Found it hard to stretch an organized defense anytime he overlapped. His delivery was also not at its usual high level.

Afriyie Acquah 6

A rather subdued performance from the Torino enforcer. Struggled to impact the game. Tried a few ambitious passes.

Mubarak Wakaso 6

An indifferent performance from a player who has come to epitomize the hard work demanded by Avram Grant. His struggle to dictate the game affected the overall performance of the team.

Christian Atsu 7

A performance full of endeavor and topped with an assist. Atsu toiled hard to break down the Mambas but several times found himself either playing a wrong ball or isolated.

Frank Acheampong 8

Lasted only 45 minutes but what impact. Was the team's best attacking option and took his  goal well.A player very much enjoying his best form.

Jordan Ayew 6

A player who excites and infuriates in equal measure. The Aston Villa forward was guilty of holding up counter attacks and his decision making was sluggish. Scored an impressive goal however and that is all you can ask of a striker.

Majeed Waris 6

Thrust into the starting line up after the injury to Gyan. He looked frustrated by Ayew's unwillingness to release passes anytime he made a ran.Linked up play well and should have done better after good combination with Rahman.

Jeffrey Schlupp 5

Replaced the injured Acheampong. Did not see too much of the ball in dangerous positions and skewed his one chance wide.

Agyeman Badu 4

Full of hard running but very little else.Came on at a time the game had been sealed.Daniel Amartey- Not Rated
