Maxwell Konadu - "Ghana won't underrate Mozambique"

Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu says his side will not underrate their opponents in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Thursday

The Black Stars will host the first of a twin AFCON 2017 qualifier against the OS Mambas at the Accra sports stadium today (Thursday).

Expectations are high for the four time African champions to annihilate, but Maxwell Konadu says they are a very good side and will pose Ghana problems should they be underrated.

"Most of their players play in Portugal and one is in China. They’ve a couple of good players. Coming here they need to win at all cost to brighten their chances," the former Asante Kotoko coach told Metro TV.

“I think that if they are coming to Ghana to play the Black Stars, they will plan to stay back and hit us on the counter.

"That is what I think they will do, but we have put in place strategies that can unlock the counter attacks they would want to play here. So we just hope that our boys will get themselves together and give us their best,’’ he said.

Ghana currently sit top of Group H with hundred percent record after recording two successive wins over Mauritius and Rwanda.
