Rashid Sumaila named Al Ghafara player of the first round

The former Asante Kotoko defender has been named as the best player of the first round at the Qatari outfit

Rashid Sumaila despite joining the club after three games has been in an impressive form and has even added goal scoring to his defensive responsibilities.

He joined the club on a season long loan from Kuwait champions Al Qadsia and has since been one of the best performing Ghana internationals abroad this season.

Sumaila 23, is expected to be named in Avram Grant's final squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Rashid Sumaila was part of the Black Stars teams that played in both the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
