Betway bring Ayew and Fletcher to Ghana

Betting company, Betway brought West Ham representatives to Ghana to promote Betway in Ghana.

Ghana vice-captain Andre Ayew and promising England star Ashley Fletcher were at the Lizzy’s Sports Complex in Accra on Wednesday morning to interact with fans and journalists.

The visit of the West Ham United duo was facilitated by BETWAY, the title sponsors of the Premier League club, as part of efforts to strengthen their brand presence across Africa.

Ayew, who has been out injured since August, spoke about his journey towards recovery as well as his hopes of seeing his Black Stars teammates kick-off their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign with a win against Uganda in Tamale on Friday.

The 21-year-old former England U-20 striker Ashley, on the other hand, expressed his excitement about visiting Ghana and getting to connect with fans as well as the opportunity of experiencing a new culture.

Late in August, BETWAY agreed a contract extension with West Ham, constituting a significant upgrade from £6 million to £10 million per annum, making it the club’s biggest ever sponsorship deal, as well as the 7th most lucrative deal in the Premier League’s current scheme of affairs.

The event at the Lizzy’s Sports Club featured a trial football game followed by a press conference and photo session. Well attended, it sported a sizeable crowd of football stakeholders, including former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah and 2015 Ghana Premier League-winning coach Bashiru Hayford.

Betway, who recently launched operations in Ghana to rival other bookies giants such as Supabets and Mybet.com, will also organize a coaching clinic for Ghana Premier League coaches at the Alisa Hotel tomorrow, Thursday October 6.
