Ghana midfielder struggles again at Atletico Madrid training

Ghana midfielder Bernard Mensah is still struggling to adapt to the intense training regime under manager Diego Simeone.

The first of 25 gruelling physical sessions took place on Monday morning with the rest scheduled for the course of the next two weeks.

Diego Simeone and his coaches dictated the sessions although there was concern once again over the fitness of Bernard Mensah, who after vomiting during Saturday's session, had to retire earlier than his teammates.

It was almost a military exercise with players working on their core strength using ropes as well as trying to drag each other to the ground.

Weights were then introduced alongside medicine balls as players were instructed to try to drag and lift the items before a short series of sprints brought training to an end.
