Ghana midfielder makes first appearance for Atletico Madrid in friendly win

The 21-year-old made a substitute appearance in their 2-0 win over the Spanish side to win the fourth edition of the Jesús Gil y Gil Memorial Trophy.

Ghana midfielder Bernard Mensah made his debut for Atletico Madrid on Saturday in the 2-0 win over Numancia in a pre season friendly match.

Mensah replaced Spanish right back Juanfran in the 70th minute of the match while his compatriot Thomas Teye Partey started the game but was replaced at half time.

Having spent last season on loan at Getafe last season, Mensah returned from his loan spell to his parent club in Madrid and his hoping to break into Diego Simeone's side.
