Ghanaian duo kick start Atletico Madrid pre season

Both midfielders took part in a workout that began with stretching and culminated in running drills.

Ghanaian duo Bernard Mensah and Thomas Teye Partey have started pre season training with Atletico Madrid.

The Black Stars players were among a handful of first-team players to the club’s training complex at Wanda Training Complex as they started with stretching and running drills.

Mensah, who rejoined Diego Simeone's side after serving a one-year loan deal with Getafe last season, will be hoping to rediscover his old form in order to stake a claim in the Rojiblancos set-up this term.

Teye Partey, who played 23 matches in all competitions as the Red and Whites finished third in La Liga last season, is hoping to repay coach Diego Simeone's faith in him with better performances next season.

Following a loan spell at Real Mallorca in 2013-14, the Partey spent the following season on another loan deal at Almeria, scoring four times in 31 matches, before returning to Los Rojiblancos last season.
