Davis scored 50 points in a season-opening 107-102 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.

Not only did Davis score, he had a remarkable all-round game, adding 16 rebounds, seven steals, five assists and four blocks.

Raptors guard DeRozan also had a banner night.

DeRozan was efficient with his shooting, hitting 17 of his 27 attempts from the field, all of them two-pointers, for his 40-point total.

He did, however, have six turnovers in his team's 109-91 win over the Detroit Pistons.

It marked the first time since 1989 that two players scored 40 or more points in season openers. Michael Jordan and Karl Malone did it then.
