Tuesday marks the end of the action in the velodrome at Rio 2016, and Great Britain will have high hopes of claiming the three gold medals on offer.

Jason Kenny, Laura Trott and Becky James are among the British cyclists hotly tipped to top the podium on day 11, which will also see Christian Taylor go for gold in the men's triple jump.

Also returning to the Rio Olympic Arena will be Simone Biles, who will be looking to put her stumble on the beam behind her in the floor final.

TEAM GB TARGET VELODROME GOLD RUSH

British cycling has enjoyed another superb showing at the Olympics, so far boasting four gold medals on the track - three short of their London 2012 total.

Tuesday could see the team match their haul of four years ago, while Kenny could pull level with Chris Hoy as the Briton with the most Olympic gold medals.

Kenny aims for his sixth Olympic title in the men's keirin, in which Callum Skinner also competes, while partner Trott is well placed to defend her omnium crown.

And, as the women's sprint draws to a conclusion, Becky James targets a gold medal to go with the silver she won in the women's keirin. She could meet Katy Marchant in an all-British final after both reached the last eight.

CAN TAYLOR HOP, SKIP AND JUMP INTO RECORD BOOKS?

American Taylor is the odds-on favourite to win gold in the men's triple jump and the focus could turn to whether the defending champion can challenge Jonathan Edwards' 21-year-old world record.

Edwards' marker stands at 18.29 metres, with Taylor's personal best - set in August 2015 - falling eight centimetres short.

With World Championship silver medallist Pedro Pablo Pichardo having pulled out injured ahead of qualifying on Monday, London silver medallist Will Claye is expected to be Taylor's main competition for gold.

BILES DUSTS HERSELF DOWN

There was a huge intake of breath when Biles almost came off during her routine in Monday's beam final.

The American recovered to claim bronze but the wobble ended any hopes of the 19-year-old sweeping the board when it comes to gymnastics medals at Rio 2016.

While five titles may now be out of the question, Biles will be hoping for a return to the top step when she competes in the floor final.

TABLES TURNED?

China have won every table tennis gold on offer at four of the last five Olympic Games, winning 26 of a possible 30 Olympic titles since the sport was introduced to the schedule in 1988.

The Asian nation is once again on course to clean up in Rio. With Ma Long and Ding Ning having already triumphed in the men's and women's singles respectively, the country is represented in both team finals, the first of which takes place on Tuesday.

Germany - winners of the European Championship in each of the last three years - are tasked with causing an upset in the women's team final this time around, but they face an uphill struggle against a side who have won every fixture 3-0 on their march to the final.
