Former Olympic heptathlon champion Denise Lewis is hoping for a Great Britain one-two in the event at this year's Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Jessica Ennis-Hill heads to Brazil as reigning Olympic and world champion, having won the latter just three months after returning from the birth of her son.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson, meanwhile, claimed gold in the pentathlon at the 2015 European Indoor Championships, and Lewis is keen to see both making their mark on the seven-discipline event in Rio.

"That [a one-two] would be everyone's dream," she told Omnisport. "It would be the best outcome possible.

"But there's a long way to go to Rio. There's a lot of training still to be done, a lot of competitions.

"It gets tougher, but Jess had a phenomenal year last year. Katarina not so, but people forget that she won the European Indoor Championships, just missing out on a world record.

"A very talented individual - she means business as well."

UK Sport believes Team GB could win 79 medals in Rio, surpassing the total achieved in London four years ago.

"That's the aim, that's the target, to actually finish as high on the podium as we did last time around," added Lewis.

"I think it's achievable. Those targets are set and measured by the success of previous World Championships and I think we're in good shape."
