Swansea City manager wants Black Stars vice-captain to stay

Please don't go! Swansea City boss Francesco Guidolin wants Andre Ayew to stay at the club.

The Ghanaian player transferred to the English Premier League on a free from French Ligue 1 team Marseille.

Andre Ayew made a remarkable start to his football life in England and ended the season as Swansea City’s top scorer. The player also won the Best Newcomer of the Season at the club’s awards night.

The Black Stars vice-captain has however been linked with a move away from Swansea City with a host of clubs reported interested.

However, Swansea manager Guidolin wants his Ghanaian star man to stay at the club saying:

“He [Andre Ayew] says he is not a striker and that he is a midfielder, but he has done well and in my opinion he is a striker and a good false nine. They are good characteristics we have discovered with him and I hope he stays.

“He is a big player, but his attitude is good. He is an important player, but he is quiet, a good guy, he decides to stay here and he is happy.””

Andre Ayew started his Premier League season with a goal against the then champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Ghanaian also scored in his last Premier League game at the Liberty Stadium against Manchester City. Overall, Ayew scored 12 goals in his debut Premier League season for Swansea City.
