Black Queens beat Kenya 3-1 in opener

Ghana came from a goal down to beat Keya 3-1 in their opening African Women’s Championship game on Sunday.

Ghana had an early goal disallowed by the referee, who ruled the player offside.

Kenya, afterwards broke the deadlock of the game through Esse Akida in the 36th, before Samira Suleman restored parity for Black Queens five minutes into the second half.

Yusif Basigi introduced Florence Dadson and that was the turning point for his charges as they exerted their control on the game and went ahead through Elizabeth Addo from the spot kick.

As the game was heading to a close Portia Boakye added the third for Ghana on the stoke of 90 minutes through a free kick to give Ghana a good start to the 2016 African Women’s Championship.
