Tunisia, Senegal through to quarter finals, Algeria crashed out

Tunisia joined Senegal to qualify from group B, after defeating Zimbabwe 4-2

The North African side had an easy day especially in the first half as Zimbabwe couldn’t curtail their attacking display.

Siliti opened the scoring for the 2004 African champions in the 10th minute mark when his shot took a wicked deflection on Zimbabwe defender.

Msakini doubled Tunisia’s lead in the 22th minute before Khenissi made three in the 36th minute. Zimbabwe then surged forward and reduced the the deficit through Mousa.

But on the stroke of half time, Tunisia restored their three goal lead through Khazri’s spot kick.

In the 58 minute Ndoro grabbed Zimbabwe second goal in the game, as the game ended 4-2.

In the other Group game, Senegal also sealed their quarter finals berth after drawing 2-2 with Algeria.

Elsewhere in group B Islam Slimani shot Algeria into the lead in the 10th minute, but on the stroke of half time Diop pulled even for the Taranga Lions.

Seven minutes after the break, Slimani grabbed his second goal in the game but their lead was short lived as Mousa Sow restored parity for Senegal a minute later.

Algeria tried getting  another  goal but Senegal were resolute at the back, as the game ended 2-2.

The result means that Algeria are out of the ongoing championship as they amassed two points,  Senegal topped the Group with seven points while Tunisia had six points and Zimbabwe had one point.
