The President of the Republic of Ghana has backed the Black Stars to win gold wished in the 2017 AFCON

The competition kicks off on 14 January, but the Black Stars are expected to leave their camping base in Al Ain, Dubai on 13th January and play their opening game on Tuesday 17 January against the Cranes of Uganda.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who was inaugurated as President of Ghana has urged the Black Stars to end the 35 years trophy drought.
