Ghana's Nadia Eke has won the first Gold medal for the country at the on-going African Athletics Championships in Durban, South Africa, on Sunday.
Eke, who is the national record holder in both the indoor and outdoor triple jump events, has a record of 13.49m, breaking the old record of 13.48m held by France-based Mathile Boateng.
On another positive note, John Ampomah won silver in javelin throwing a reach of 75m
The duo capped off a good performance by team Ghana who placed 7th in overall rankings after winning total number of 6 medals (1 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze )
Team Ghana will arrive in the country on Tuesday evening at 16:30 GMT.
