James Kwesi Appiah has earned the 100% support of former President John Agyekum Kuffour for a return to the Black Stars as coach.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been hunting for coach Avram Grant's replacement and it appears an indigenous coach would be settled on.

Kwesi Apppiah who masterminded the Ghana's qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil has been highly tipped for the Black Stars job.

And President Kuffour has total confidence in Appiah that he can make a huge impact if considered for the job.

"I love Akwasi, i would support him a 100% but i dont know what is wrong with Ghana. Somehow we tend to believe that the foreigner, the white person is the right person to coach," President Kufuor said after receiving members of the late coach Sam Arday's family at his residence.

"No, I don't see it that way, I believe in the individual.. You may get a white coach who is a master and I believe in this day and age, You may get a black coach who is also a master"

James Kwesi Appiah was the first indigenous coach to qualify Ghana for the FIFA World World Cup, but after the Black Stars' poor show in the Mundial, he was sacked some few months later.

He is currently the coach FC Khartoum in the Sudanese-he was voted best coach in the Sudanese league last season.
