She will also Head the United Nations Office to the African Union (UNOAU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The position became vacant in October, when the previous occupant, Ms Sahle-Work Zewde, became the President of Ethiopia.

Earlier, Madam Tetteh succeeded Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde who was appointed as Special Representative to the African Union and Head of the United Nations Office to the African Union (UNOAU).

This was made known on Monday, December 10, in a Facebook post by Ben Dotsei Malor, a former Communications Advisor to President John Mahama.

She served as Minister for Trade and Industry from 2009 to 2013 under former President John Atta Mills and Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2017 during President John Mahama's tenure.

A practising lawyer, she holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana.

She was also the Member of Parliament for the Awutu-Senya West constituency in the Central Region.
