Arguing with partners who think they are always right

The arguments can get so heated you may end up saying hurtful things you didn’t even mean in the first place. If you ever have to deal with an argumentative individual, here are some steps you can use to help control the situation.

The arguments can get so heated you may end up saying hurtful things you didn’t even mean in the first place.

Disagreements aren’t the fun part of the love package. Disagreement with a partner who must always be right can be difficult and downright frustrating.

·Keep calm. When you’re having an argument with an argumentative partner, the saying ‘two is better than one’ doesn’t apply. Getting angry and escalating an argument will not benefit either one of you. As hard as it can be, stay calm, and listen to your partner make their point.

·Express only what you actually know. This may not be the best time to lay bare your suspicions and theories as to why your partner acts a certain way. To maintain a valid discussion and to stay calm, stick to the facts. Straying from the facts cause your partner, who really takes pleasure in winning all the time, to punch holes in your argument. This result in depend exasperation, making it hard for you to stay calm.

·Take a walk. This may sound crazy, but if you’re extremely exhausted after a hard day’s work, the best thing is to walk away from an argument that you know will take forever to die down. Exhaustion, argumentative partners and frayed emotions are the ingredients for nasty blowouts.

·Consider the subject you are arguing about. Is it even worth arguing about? If you're debating something like the best kinds of pizza toppings, it is probably best to just let it go. You don’t want to fight over irrelevant subjects now, do you?
