We shouldn’t be too quick to dismiss the essence of spirituality to the holistic wellbeing of individuals. If celibacy is a person’s way of attaining spiritual wholeness, then it makes a lot of sense that celibacy will be a chief part of their dating rules. It also makes sense that those who are in relationships with such individuals respect that decision; after all, who wouldn’t like to date someone who is at peace mentally, physically and spiritually?

Taking sex out of the picture means one does not have to rely so much on external validation do define one’s self worth. When a person is celibate, they can explore other possibilities of finding their own beauty, desires and strengths.
