Charlotte Osei - EC Boss

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei, has said the EC will not tolerate any plans of picketing by pressure group, Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) if the act will involve a lot of noisemaking.

She said since the EC is a security zone and also a national data centre, any attempt to distract the work of the commission through picketing will not be accepted.

However, speaking to the media after an IPAC meeting on Wednesday, the EC chairman said her outfit is ready to receive the petition from the group.

She further said she hoped the group is still not bringing the same petition they submitted to the EC earlier.

The Let My Vote Count Alliance group has been engaged in a back and forth with the police over their decision to picket at the offices of the EC to present a petition for a new voters’ register.
