Otiko denies endorsing Ken Agyapong's sex-for-EC job claim

According to her, the comments she made at the time were misconstrued.

“I’ll be the last person to do that because I myself have been a victim of such allegation,” Ms Djaba told parliament’s Appointments Committee on Monday, January 30, during her vetting.

“What I said at the time that Hon Kennedy Agyapong made the allegation [was that] I said that Madam Charlotte Osei, because of her position – the first woman to occupy that seat and the fact that she needed to be above reproach – I said that because of her integrity, there should be an investigation so that her name will be cleared.

“I never said that I supported the allegation or otherwise, all I called for was an investigation by National Security or the BNI,” she added.

The MP on a campaign platform last year accused EC Chair, Charlotte Osei of trading her body for her position.

Many condemned him for the comments, but the Assin Central Legislator later explained he was only joking.

“I said a lot of things on that day, even this one, I was joking, I immediately took my seat after making those comments…yes, I was joking…,” he said.
