22 petition NPP for suspension of Arthur Kennedy

Arthur Kennedy had described as unfortunate the leadership style of flag bearer of the party, Nana Akufo-Addo, which he believes has contributed to the woes of the party.

Some 22 members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have filed a petition to the party demanding for disciplinary action against founding member, Dr Arthur Kennedy.

The failed presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Kennedy had condemned the suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko, General Secretary and Second Vice Chairman, Kwabena Agyepong and Sammy Crabbe respectively.

According to him, he is very disappointed in Nana Addo and has lost respect for him.

"In the fullness of time, Nana Addo will regret having his name added to the disgustful proceedings. I'm very disappointed by the leader he has become. I've respected him a lot. But I'm very saddened about what he has become and what he has turned the NPP into," he told Accra-based Starr FM.

However, his comments have not gone down well with some members of the NPP, who have therefore asked the Disciplinary Committee to suspend him.

Deputy General Secretary of the party Nana Obiri Boahen has told Accra-based Joy FM, the Disciplinary Committee would investigate the petition filed by the 22 supporters of the party and appropriate action taken.
