The General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention, Atik Mohammed, has been suspended indefinitely over comments he made about the appointment of Dr Edward Mahama as the Ambassador-at-Large by President Akufo-Addo.

He was also accused of criticising the party’s 2016 flagbearer, Dr Mahama, on multiple media platform.
Saturday’s meeting was chaired by Mr Bernard Monah, who also berated Dr Mahama for accepting to serve in the Akufo-Addo administration.
Dr Mahama, 2016 Vice Presidential Candidate, Emmanuel Anyidoho, first Vice Chairman, Dr Woembegu, second Vice Chairman, Henry Asante and third Vice Chairman, Hajia Ajara were reportedly at Saturday’s meeting.
The rest were PNC National Treasurer, Akane Adams, General Secretary, Atik Mohammed, National Youth Organiser and Women Organiser.
Meanwhile, Atik Mohammed has denied reports that he has been suspended. In a Facebook post organ of the party has the power to suspend him save National Congress.

"My attention has been drawn to some news that I have been suspended indefinitely. It is not true and indeed, no organ of the party save National Congress is clothed with such powers. I will officially be issuing a statement to this effect," he said.
