Vicky Bright seeks annulment of Okaikoi-South primary

Addressing the media, Mrs. Bright said she had exhausted all internal means to have her concerns addressed but to no avail.

Former Minister of State and Legal Advisor to ex President John Agyekum Kufuor, Mrs Vicky Bright is heading to court to seek annulment of the outcome of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primary at Okaikoi-South.

According to her, the register used in the recent primary was bloated and full of irregularities.

She said after sending three petitions to the NPP since May 11 without getting a response, she has no option than to head to court.

“I am going to court as a matter of principle to disqualify the sole candidate Mr Ahmed Arthur, whom I raised a number of issues concerning his academic qualifications,” she said.

Mrs. Bright believes the NPP should not preoccupy itself only with the National Register but should focus also on constituencies, where there are legitimate concerns about aspiring parliamentarians.

Mrs Bright withdrew from the Okaikoi South parliamentary primary of the NPP on matters of principle, leaving incumbent Mr Ahmed Arthur, as sole candidate.
