I will not support NPP if i were a business man - Sir John

"We are always in the news either battling each other or talking about matters that are inconsequential"

Former general secretary of the NPP Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has told Pulse.com.gh that the NPP is becoming unattractive even to business men.

"We are always in the news either battling each other or talking about matters that are inconsequential...we have chosen to as it were fight each other on matters unimportant."

The party is making headlines over alleged misappropriation of some party funds.

Some national executives have been  accused of operating a secret party account. First vice chairman of the party Freddy Blay, who is one of the people being accused, in a letter to the police indicated that the account in question existed 12 years ago.

Freddy Blay and the national treasurer, Abankwa Yeboah were reported to the CID of the Ghana police service by a youth activist Baah Acheamfour for allegedly operating the said secret account.

Kwabena Agyepong responding to the letter by Freddy Blay said Mr. Blay's responses are inacurate.

But speaking to Pulse.com.gh Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie said the Ecobank account in question has existed for a long time.

He added that discussion of the "secret account " will only cost the party potential donors.

"if i were a business man and i hear the NPP fighting over money, that monies are lost, if i were a potential donor why will i give my money to the NPP only for it to be squandered. Those who are putting these matters out there are not helping the party they are rather asking people not to support the party, " he said
