The embattled national chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Paul Awentami Afoko has taken a swipe at the party’s hierarchy for the numerous suspensions in the party.
According to him, the suspension of Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, a founding member of the party, is senseless.
"You have suspended him, and by extension you have suspended his vote and that of his entire family. He is just a member; he has not gone to the party’s headquarters to look for a job or for money. Does it make sense?" Mr Afoko wondered.

Mr Paul Afoko is in court challenging the legitimacy of two members on the disciplinary committee which upheld his suspension.
In a suit filed by Afoko contesting his suspension, he argue that Alhaji Short and Gifty Kusi who were on the disciplinary committee were not properly appointed.
Paul Afoko who was elected the NPP National Chairman in April 2014, was suspended indefinitely at an emergency NEC meeting at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra on Friday, October 23, 2015.
The NPP’s Disciplinary Committee had on October 21, 2015 submitted a report to the NEC of the party recommending the indefinite suspension of Mr Afoko as national chairman, citing his unilateral leadership style as a bane of the party’s progress.

But Paul Afoko insisted that he is "still the national chairman of the NPP".
