"We'll serve with humility" - Akufo-Addo

In addition, the president said he will build on the economic foundation ex-president Kufuor left eight years ago.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has said his government will serve Ghanaians with humility at a thanksgiving service in his hometown, Kyebi.

"We are here to serve Ghana with humility and not to lord over them," Akufo-Addo said in Twi at a durbar organised by the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin on Sunday. "That is our focus. Everyone should be measured in their utterances."

Earlier, the president attended a thanksgiving service with some New Patriotic Party (NPP) bigwigs as well as the MPs who won on NPP's ticket.

In his sermon, he spoke about coveteousness. He charged politicians and the Ghanaian society to eschew selfishness and greediness.

According to him, God abhors covetousness, urging leaders to serve with clean hearts and minds.
