According to Jinapor, he will live up to expectation to ensure that the NPP government succeeds.

Deputy Chief of Staff, Samuel Abu Jinapor,

According to him, he will live up to expectation to ensure that the NPP government succeeds.

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM, he said, "There were several issues that came up against me but these issues rather encourage and strengthen me to work up to expectation. I will vindicate the confidence in his (Akufo-Addo) judgment. I will not embarrass him.

"I believe all the things people said about me were meant to ensure that the president and his government succeed, they all want the Akufo-Addo government to flourish, but as I said it will rather empower me to work up to expectation.

Samuel Abu Jinapor before his appointment as Deputy Chief of Staff has raised some eyebrows within the rank and file of the party.

Some youth in the NPP seems to be against him and have expressed their displeasure on social media.

However, some NPP youth activists believe Mr Jinapor is not qualified for the job because they claim he did not show enough commitment to the party after the 2012 elections, warning that the position is too sensitive for him.

He wasn't the only one accused of betraying the cause of Nana Addo and the NPP in 2012 but he seems more painful due to his privileged closeness to Nana Addo and the trust reposed in him.

But Jinapor said, "I want to be part of the success of this government and so I will up my efforts and I hope with God’s guidance, I will be able to contribute my quota to the government," he said.
