EC to decide on NPP's petition September 22

The political parties will hold a meeting decide on the issue after the submission of proposals

Political parties have been asked to submit their proposals on the NPP's call for a new voters' register by September 22, 2015.

This will be followed by an Inter Party Advisory Committee meeting on the 23rd of September to deliberate on the matter.

The NPP submitted a petition to the EC presenting evidence to back their call for a new register. In the petition the NPP said over 76,000 Togolese nationals are on Ghana's voters' register.

The NDC also followed with a press conference saying a NPP's claims of foreigner on the register are untrue.

The party's general secretary also argued that new register will open the gateway for more minors to be registered.
