There have been reports of violent attacks on political opponents allegedly by supporters of the NPP following their victory in the December 7 polls.

But addressing a press conference on Thursday, Mr Portuphy warned the leadership of their opponents to call their supporters to order.

He also charged the international community to take particular note of what is happening and urged the police to deal with culprits involved.

But the outspoken MP, Kennedy Agyapong in an interview with journalists in Accra said the NDC party chairman will be the first to go down if there is violence.

"If he [Portuphy] tries anything, I will give one command and he will be the first person to go down. That one I assure him.He cannot cause riot and go scot free," he said.

"Yesterday for instance I went on air to condemn what the guys did at the toll booth. I am surprised the NDC chairman came out with such press conference,” he added.

Mr Agyapong further added that "If NPP people are attacking NDC people it should stop. I don't subscribe to that. It should stop. We do not need that in this country.”
