Fiifi Kwetey wins Ketu South NDC primary

Mr. Fiifi Kwetey, who is also the Minister of Food and Agriculture won by landslide polling 14, 610 of the total votes cast.

The incumbent Member of Parliament for the Ketu South constituency in the Volta region, Fiifi Kwetey has won the parliamentary primary to lead the ruling National Democratic Congress in the 2016 elections.

His closest contender, Sylvanus Amedorme, polled 1,375, whiles Famous Kuadagah polled a meager 637 votes.

The Ketu South primary which was previously scheduled for November 21, was suspended following a court injunction application that was secured by one of the disqualified aspirants, Jim Yao Morti.

He went to an Accra High Court to challenge his disqualification but his application was thrown out by the court.

The constituency has a total number of 32,637 registered voters. Only a little over half the figure turned out to vote on Tuesday, December 29 following apathy on the part of supporters.
