Nana Adu Mensah was nominated as intervention measures after six failed attempts to elect a Presiding Member for the assembly.
The assembly members are expected to meet Thursday, October 13, for the seventh time to either endorse or reject the new nomination.
The assembly is expected to reconvene on Thursday, October 13, to either endorse or reject the new nominee after several failed attempts following entrenched positions by the contesting parties compelling the house to operate without one.
Speaking in an interview with pulse.com.gh the lead contender in the last elections Abraham Boadi said they (Abraham Boadi and Michael Adusei) have agreed to step aside for the endorsement of Nana Adu Mensah Asare.
He added that “Adusei and I have agreed to step aside for a compromised candidate after a meeting with Nananom.”
“I believe there is a lot of wisdom in Nananom’s decision. I think it’s fair. I’m very sure we will vote unanimously for Amakom hene Nana Adu Mensah,” he said.
Mr Boadi stated that he would be surprised if the outcome of the tomorrow’s elections says otherwise.
“Anyone who does not agree with the decision of Nananom does not have the development of Kumasi at heart,” he concluded.
