The defeated New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant in the Klottey Korle constituency, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey will contest the seat as an independent candidate in the November polls.
Nortey, a former constituency chairman, won the initial primary organized by the NPP in August 2015.
His main contender and a member of the NPP legal team, Philip Addison managed to get the results annulled by an Accra High Court.
The re-run which was organized a week ago saw Philip Addison emerge as the winner after he polled 396 votes against 367 garnered by the Nortey.
Supporters of Nortey who were aggrieved by what they described as unfair treatment by the party against their preferred candidate urged him to go independent.
