Nana Addo, said this when he paid a visit to the Manhyia Palace in the Ashanti region on Wednesday December 14, 2016 to thank the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his support and wise counsel.
He reaffirmed his commitment to fulfill his promises.
"Before campaigning in the Ashanti Region, I came here to seek the blessing of the Asantehene. Exactly a week ago, Ghanaians voted, after which the NPP emerged victorious," Nana Addo said.
"I have, therefore, come here this afternoon after the NPP’s victory to once again seek your blessing as I lead the country. I have also come to assure you that I will fulfil all the promises I made to Ghanaians prior to the elections."
He pointed out that, "The task ahead is huge and so I have come here to seek the blessing of the Asantehene to help me govern this country to the benefit of the entire nation."
He was accompanied by his vice president-elect, Mahamudu Bawumia, Minority leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, former Trades Minister, Alan Kyerematen, acting National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay, Women’s Organizer of the NPP, Otiko Afisah Djaba, acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu and some Members of Parliament-elect.
