Soldiers allegedly seize Yaw Boateng Gyan's wife's car

The car was said to have been taken away from a mechanic’s garage by the Assets task force formed by the presidency to retrieve assets belonging to the state from former government officials.

A 2016-registered BMW 7 series saloon car has been allegedly seized from the wife of former National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan.

Mr Boateng Gyan told Accra-based Asempa FM that some soldiers seized the car on Friday together with two police officers and two plain-clothed men with reason that it looked like a state vehicle.

He said the soldiers, however, returned the car on Monday, February 13, after he had presented documents covering the car as demanded by the task force.

The presidency last week announced that over 200 vehicles were missing from the Flagstaff House.

It has before that seized cars belonging to the National Organiser of the NDC, Mr Kofi Adams, as well as, Mr James Agyenim-Boateng, an aide to former vice president Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.
