NPP launches fund raising campaign

Speaking at a ceremony to launch the fundraising campaign, Acting chairman of the party, Freddie Blay said the party will rely on small donations from all Ghanaians across the country, as well as from bank rollers in order to get rid of the Mahama government.

"In the next few weeks limited registration will take place. We have to recruit and train all volunteers and agents to get out the people to come and register and to protect the integrity of the registration exercise.

"To be able to govern effectively, the NPP requires a clear majority in the next Parliament. The NPP led by Nana Akufo-Addo therefore needs resources to support the hard work of our Parliamentary candidates," he said.

"We are presented with yet another golden opportunity to remove from office this incompetent, corrupt and divisive NDC government.

"It is obvious they are bent on holding on to power in spite of their in ability to perform. They have access to a lot of resources but we together as citizens of Ghana owe it a duty to ourselves and to the unborn generation to mobilize efforts to remove this incompetent NDC government in the upcoming elections," Mr. Blay added.

On his part, the 2016 presidential candidate of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said Ghana is in a sorry state with incompetence being the hallmark of the Mahama government.

"Ghana, today, is in crisis. Agriculture, once upon a time the bedrock of our development, is a pale shadow of its former self. Manufacturing is at a very low ebb. Corruption is at its height.

"Our economy is in tatters. Inflation is high. Taxes are rising. Businesses, both big and small, are struggling, and millions of young men and women are without work, Nana Addo said.

The NPP flagbearer therefore urged all to vote for the party as it is the best alternative needed to bring the change Ghana deserves.

The party has however said that people can contribute via special airtime top-up scratch cards, via SMS, via cluster platforms, via the ‘I-am-for-Nana’ mobile app which allows donors, both in Ghana and abroad, to contribute using their Visa or Mastercard and allows donors in Ghana to donate also via Mobile Money.
