Many have raised concerns as to why Mr Afoko would announce his presence in the name of the party when his suspension has not been revoked.

But speaking on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News, his spokesperson, Nana Yaw Osei, spokesperson said Mr Afoko attended the forum because the EC invited him.

“The Electoral Commission doesn’t just get up and invite people. They write to political parties and invite them. The Electoral Commission wrote a letter inviting the National Chairman, the General Secretary and the technical team of the party on the review of the voters’ register and if the National Chairman has been invited we have only one National Chairman; and that is Mr. Paul Afoko. One General Secretary which is Kwabena Agyepong and the technical team which is made up of Mac Manu, Martin Adjei Mensah and Hon O. B Amoah. The Electoral Commission wrote a letter inviting each person and nobody can usurp the functions of the National Chairman, Mr. Paul Afoko and so he went,” he stated.
