Voting not suspended in Jaman North - EC

The candidate Fredrick Ahinkwaa and his agents according to reports raised an objection because he alleged that the materials provided for the election did not tally with that of the party

The Electoral Commission has rejected claims that voting at the Jaman North constituency in the Brong Ahafo region has been postponed to Thursday, December 8, 2016.

Media reports earlier indicated that the presidential and parliamentary elections in the Jaman North constituency have been suspended due to an objection raised by the parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The candidate, Fredrick Ahinkwaa and his agents according to reports raised an objection because he alleged that the materials provided for the election did not tally with that of the NDC.

According to him, the police had to hold five separate meetings with the parties over the matter but all proved futile.

But the EC said, "voting is proceeding today. Election materials on way to polling station."
