Amissah-Arthur after the votes tweeted saying, "The voting process is very efficient. It took me just about a minute to vote in the presidential and parliamentary elections."

She voted at the Cantonment polling station in the La Dadekotopon constituency in Accra.

Meanwhile, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party for the 2016 general elections, Nana Akufo-Addo and his wife have cast their vote at the Rock of Ages polling station in the Abuakwa South Constituency.

Nana Addo immediately after voting on Facebook urged Ghanaians to vote peacefully.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also cast his vote at the Kperiga Presby JHS in the Walewale Constituency in the Northern Region.

His wife Samira Bawumia also voted at the same polling station in the constituency.

Earlier, Dr. Bawumia tweeted urging Ghanaians to go out and vote peacefully.

Former President Jerry John Rawlings has voted in the presidential and parliamentary elections.

He voted at the Osu Castle at the Public Works Department (PWD) 1 polling station in the Klottey-Korle constituency.

Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has also cast her vote.

Nana Konadu who doubles as the flagbearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP) voted at the Ridge Church polling station in Accra.
