The leadership of the Progressive People’s Party is raising concerns over the decision by the ruling National Democratic Congress to launch its campaign at Cape Coast in the Central Region.

According to the PPP, the campaign comes at a time when there is a ban on noisemaking in the area by the Oguaa Traditional Council.

Addressing the media Director of Communication for the NDC campaign Joyce Bawa Mogtari said “we intend to outdoor our candidate, we intend to galvanise our party supporters, we intend to officially kick start the campaign in the run up to our victory come December 7, 2016.”

But the Cape Coast North and South Parliamentary Candidates of the PPP, Sarah Ewuraesi Bucknor and Bright Edem Drofenu said the Oguaa Traditional Council is being discriminatory as the party’s (PPP) earlier attempt to organise a similar campaign was disallowed.

Party leaders in the area are therefore demanding answers from the Oguaa Traditional Council on the matter.

Reports say the Oguaa Traditional Council are likely to meet on Wednesday over the matter.
