Otumfuor admits I have done well for Ashanti - Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has said that the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has commended his governments developmental work in the Ashanti region.

The president was speaking on Kumasi-based Radio, Garden City Radio.

“I was with Otumfuo yesterday to pay my respects to him on a courtesy visit and he received us very warmly and he actually said that we had done a lot of work in Ashanti but then we should learn to tell our story to let people know what we’ve done.”

President Mahama said this has also encouraged him to share the message of his achievements especially during his campaign in the Ashanti Region.

President Mahama earlier in his tour of the region stated that he was optimistic the NDC will win 13 parliamentary seats in the region. He said this was because of the reception he received in the region during his tour.

The president said, “we are seeing more enthusiasm, we are seeing more commitment, we are seeing a better turnout this year than we did in 2012 and, so, it makes me very confident that we are going to increase our numbers in Ashanti.”

President Mahama is on a four-day tour in the Ashanti region. He has met chiefs and electorates alike to give them reasons why they need to elect him for a second term.
