President John Mahama has endorsed and graced the campaign launch of Obuobia Darko-Opoku, the parliamentary aspirant for the Mallam-Gbawe constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Accra.
According to Obuobia Darko-Opoku, the decision to launch her campaign forms part of the process to enable her win the party’s parliamentary candidature slot to enable her contest the 2016 general elections on the ticket of the NDC.

She said she was very confident that she would go through the vetting process smoothly and eventually emerge as the 2016 parliamentary candidate for the party after the primary.
She said "I'm indeed grateful to him for making the Weija-Gbawe constituency a port of call on his campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region. I promise to live up to this trust in me to represent the NDC in my constituency."
Obuobia-Darko is the deputy chief executive of the Ghana Free Zone Board (GFZB).
