NPP responds to Nii Lante Vanderpuye

The Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije’s said “the presidency is not about height”. Even though he did not mention Nana Addo in his statement, political watchers believe he was referring to him.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has indicated that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) is desperate hence the attack on the physical appearance of Nana Addo.

This was in response to the Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije’s comments claiming “the presidency is not about height”.

The MP made this statement at the launch of the National Democratic Congress campaign at the Cape Coast Stadium in the Central Region.

Vanderpuije said “being a president is not about height, or how short you are. It is not about the eyeglasses you were. Being a president is about the love you have for the people and realising what they need. It is about deciding to sacrifice yourself to make life better for all.”

Even though the MP who is also the Minister for Sports did not mention any name in his address, most people believe he was referring to the NPP’s Presidential nominee for the 2016 election Nana Addo Akufo-Addo.

In a response, a Deputy Communications Director of the NPP, Anthony Karbo told Accra-based Citi FM that the NDC has failed to fulfil its “I care for you” promises, the reason why they “will resort to denigrating people for how they have been created by their maker.”
