The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has launched a campaign dubbed ‘adopt-a-polling station campaign’.

This campaign is to enable party sympathisers to sponsor polling agents of the party during the elections.

Launching the campaign at the Okaishie Drug-lane in the Greater Accra Region campaign manager of the party Peter Mac Manu said the NPP must have 29000 polling agents to ensure all goes on well at the stations.

“The polling station is the most important level of the election. Therefore we have polling agents who supervise the elections at those places, those who go round to call electorates from their homes to come out and vote. We also have those who secure the polling stations to ensure there is no problem at the stations."

"This requires a lot of money and time. We as sympathisers of the party must, therefore, support the NPP in this regard. Some can bring foodstuff, money, your time and energy will also be appreciated and any other thing you think you can help with is welcome.”

Reminding the gathering of the ruling on the 2012 election petition, Mac Manu said they were told elections are won at the polling stations. He said this means they need to do all within their power to secure the ballots.

He mentioned that they can only do that when they motivate the volunteers of the NPP during the elections.

“It is time for John Mahama and NDC to call Nana Akuffo Addo and congratulate him. We can only do this when we support the polling stations with the needed items amongst other things,” he reiterated.
