President John Mahama has reiterated that the National Democratic Congres (NDC) will never abandon the Volta region.
“I Want to assure you that despite all the propaganda the NDC will never abandon Ketu south and the Volta region," he said at a rally in the Ketu South Constituency as part of his five-day tour of the region.
His comments follow growing concerns among residents that he has abandoned them despite the wide support the party gets in the region.
President Mahama blamed the New Patriotic Party for spreading lies and propaganda in the region in an attempt to downplay the impact of his projects in the region.
This is not the first time the president has said he will not abandon the region.

In a speech read on his behalf by the Speaker of parliament recently at a festival celebration in the region, the president told the gathering he will not take the region for granted ad that he appreciates the their support.
