NDC to launch campaign on August 14

The official launch of the campaign will be done at the Cape Coast Stadium in the Central Region.

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) will launch its campaign on Sunday, August 14, 2016.

The launch will be done at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the Central region.

This was revealed at a press conference held in Accra today (August 8).

President John Mahama, who doubles as the NDC's presidential nominee for the 2016 election, is hoping for a second term in the highest office of the land.

The leader of the NDC President John Mahama recently appointed a 15 member committee to lead the campaign of the party.

Addressing the media Director of Communication for the NDC campaign Joyce Bawa Mogtari said “we intend to outdoor our candidate, we intend to galvanise our party supporters, we intend to officially kick start the campaign in the run up to our victory come December 7, 2016”

She expressed hope that after the launch and activities that will follow would help them secure a second term for President Mahama.

"We have a robust candidate, we have a humble candidate we have a gentleman, we have a man who has demonstrated all his life his true passion for this country and the people of Ghana. We have a man who deserves a second term, and we hope after the official launch we will be able to match towards victory 2016 come December 7”

Meanwhile, his main contender Nana Akufo-Addo of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is also hoping to win the seat after the November polls even though the NPP is yet to announce a date for its campaign launch.
