NDC chases Lawra MP for party van

A letter written to Hon. Samson Abu by the Lawra Constituency Secretary of the party, Joshua Lotaa said the decision is in compliance with a press statement by the General Secretary of the Party, Johnson Aseidu Nketia.

The Lawra Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress is on the heels of the Member of Parliament, who is running as an independent candidate, to return the partys vehicle and other properties in his possession.

"We request the immediate return of the party's van with registration no.GB2786-12 which has been in your custody since November 2012. The vehicle should be returned to the constituency Chairman," the letter said.

Mr Aseidu Nketia on September 1, 2016,  dismissed 23 members of the party for contesting as independent candidates.

He said  such persons are in breach of articles 8 (d,f); 45 (a,b,c &e) and 46 (10) of the party's constitution.

In a statement, he said, "The affected persons by their conduct and on their own volition have ceased to be members of the party."

In the Upper West Region, Samson Abu and Pharauk Bandanaa (Wa West) were among the 23 people dismissed.
